'Something Magical'  said The Observer
Tom's Field,  campsite, has been established for about 50 years and is well known for the unique location. The campsite is situated amongst the beautiful Purbeck Hills within easy reach of England's only natural World Heritage Site and about 3 miles from Swanage seafront. The fields are boundaried by old stone walling and the pitches offer a variety of aspects with some  views of Swanage Bay. The village of Langton Matravers is very close.
GOING FOR A WALK! THIS IS THE FIELD NEXT TO THE CAMPSITE
THIS IS THE WAY TO DANCING LEDGE

Access to the coastal path and Dancing Ledge is via a footpath adjacent to Toms Field and can be reached in approx 20 mins walk from the field.  This is not sandy beach but an amazing rocky area.  The last part  of the access to Dancing Ledge is quite a tricky climb down, so needs care. The recent BBC version of Tess of the D'Urbervilles features Dancing Ledge

The nearest sandy beach is Swanage which is about 3 miles away. It is possible to stay with us and not to use a car as there are so many wonderful walks nearby and a pub within 10 mins walk ,this serves food and you can take children.
We are able to offer detailed information for your days out and let you know of public transport times. So why not be carfree and carefree
