The Bean & Sprout offer breakfasts at weekends and daily in the main season
Sprout & Bean is the small, seasonal, independent café at Tom’s Field Campsite, run by Connor & Caitlin and known for its relaxed atmosphere, exceptional coffee and freshly prepared, local food.
Open early mornings during the camping season, the café serves simple hearty breakfasts, proper coffee, fresh pastries and ‘get it before it’s gone Banana bread’ - fueling campers before a day exploring the Isle of Purbeck.
On weekend evenings the café hosts pizza nights and are introducing Pie Nights, creating a friendly place where campers can gather, share soul food and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the campsite.
Over time Sprout & Bean has also become a small destination for locals and walkers passing through Langton Matravers, who have coined it:
“Dorset’s best kept secret… a cute café hidden on Tom’s Field Campsite.”
The focus is on simple, good quality food served in a relaxed setting, making the café a joyful part of the Tom’s Field camping experience.
Whether you’re camping on site, walking the coastal paths or just passing through the village, Sprout & Bean offers a warm welcome, a laugh and a good place to pause.
Thirty years of Tom's Field and John has plenty of stories to tell Connor about the cafe. Originally, back in the 1950s it was the first shop at Tom's Field, then it became a store room. More recently 25 years ago it was the studio for Sarah working in embroidered landscapes, Now it is the wonderful cafe.
