We have several workshops for children in the school summer holidays, these are fun and easy and often have an environmental aspect.
In the past we have had:
The R.S.P.B
Butterfly Coservation
Artist led papier mache workshop.
For adults:
Bee keeping
Nature's Products
Purbeck Art Week exhibition
We acquired the site from Tom Bower in 1993 and have had a policy of continued improvement but trying to maintain the original character of the site.
We have been recommended by Cool Camping, The Rough Guide to Camping and there was an article in the Telegraph magazine last year all recognising our efforts in conservation and re-cycling.
We aim to support local products and sell Fairtrade items in the shop.
We also like to support the arts and have three pieces of sculpture by local artists.
There is also a unique map of Purbeck and Tom’s Field that we commissioned from Tony Kerins, Swanage artist
We promote enterprises such as The Burngate Stone Centre and the Museum in Langton Matravers and sponsor Purbeck Film Festival and Purbeck Art Weeks.
We have been awarded a GOLD in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards for the past 6 years.
